Family offices play a central role in the planning, coordination, and execution of charitable giving for the ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) families they serve. Because privacy and discretion are often foundational to the family office structure, their involvement can sometimes feel opaque to those unfamiliar with their role. For fundraisers and charitable gift planning professionals, developing a clearer understanding of how family offices function can significantly enhance engagement with both their advisors and the families they represent.
In this moderated conversation, two senior family office executives will offer an inside perspective on how their respective firms approach philanthropy and guide families through the strategic decisions necessary to achieve their charitable objectives. The discussion will define the role of a family office, explore governance frameworks, examine multi-generational dynamics, and highlight current trends in charitable planning and giving strategies within this space. This conversation aims to demystify the role of family offices in the philanthropic landscape and offer practical insight for building thoughtful relationships with these advisors and the families they support.
